Our league is in the mid 200's and we have some spots open if you play everyday. We don't have margins or minimum scoring levels to be a member. All you have to do is be at least 88 ovr and play everyday. You can pm me or apply in game to LIlPenny

  • posted a message on I need some Showdown advice

Hey guy's, I'm a 96 ovr and have earned the past 3 95 SD players by grinding. In the past day the AI is kicking my butt consistently. I'm winning qtrs by 10 and still losing. I just spent 2 hours and only managed to pick up 40,000 fans. I usually shoot from the top corner because I tend to get blocked less, I try to steal outside of the arc and hold down the block when they're about 3 feet inside. What I'm finding mostly they just inbound, pass and drive and I just can't stop them anymore.

Does anyone have any advice they could share, has the AI been ramped up again or am I just unlucky today?

'Who is going to pay the developer's?' Are you for real? 50 million downloads just for android. And when 2k18 my team goes live there will be at least 10m uninstalls

What does 50 million downloads represent? How many of the 50 million will actually pay to play? What do you think the annual revenue of NBALM and why? Throwing random numbers out there that doesn't directly correlate to actual financial impact, good job
The major reason that EA is not staffing more engineers to fix all the existing bugs/problems, is mainly due to the game not generating enough revenue.

How about some random research about game not generating enough revenue before you try to refute someones comment? It took 30 seconds.
For iPhone only in the United States alone, not worldwide.
Estimated daily revenue for $32,584, Estimated yearly revenue $11,893,160, Estimated daily installs 24,596
Considering that season 2 is not a rebuild but a badly bugged rehash of season 1, development costs would have been considerably lower providing a higher profit margin. Please post your source that EA is not staffing more engineers to fix existing bugs/problems. I'm sure many of us would like to read that, and if that's the case, all the reason to dump it when something comes along that hopefully won't encourage people to cheat by keeping the means to do so in the game.

Nice 'Think before you make a comment'. It's good that you did 30 seconds of research before you posted this, but it's not nearly enough. It’s actually pretty funny that you thought just saying ‘they make 12 mil’ is enough to make an argument.

    1) NBALM US is the biggest revenue, all other counties are franchised to localized companies, I am not sure how the corporate/teaming structure at EA. So let’s not assume much here.

    2) I don’t think the 12m revenue is anywhere close to accurate, because it’s free data, and it only took you 30 seconds to find. But let’s use this as a control data for this breakdown, feel free to question any of the data authenticity here

      - Apple takes 30% cut - 8.4 mil

      - Yearly t.a.x (CA and Fed) 37% - 4.5mil

      - Team is located in Redwood City, let’s breakdown how much it cost to build a team:

        - Let’s go to the safe side an say it costs 150k to hi.re a single unit in and it’s a 10 people’s team rn. You can go to glassdoor/paysa to check, I tried to post third party websites and got marked as spam. Now we are left with 3mil.

       - What about advertising/mrkting costs?

       - What about infrastrcture fees or whatever service they use to maintain their server?

       - Real estate cost?

       - recruiters they need to h1re people?

       - QA?

       - Google/search engine ads ppc costs? Do you think these are all free?

       - I am sure I have missed a lot of spending, big or small they add up. At the end we are probably left with profit in the 1-2 mil ballpark.

    3) Where do you think the 1-2 mil is gonna flow in the company? They will go to managers, directors, shreholders, how much they will each get? Compared to NBA Live/Mdden console, or the 27.6 billion dollar valuation/3+b gmv, this looks super negligible. After all the spending it probably comes down to little or close to no profit at all, is this game worth spending that much effort, to build up a team that generate close to nothing?

I hope you learned something from this conversation:

please think before you make a comment :)

It seems you might have taken an overly long time to write this. I'm sorry I didn't read it because I really don't care.
